County Court Judgment (CCJ)

A County Court Judgment (CCJ) is a court order in England and Wales confirming that someone owes a debt they have not paid. CCJs appear on credit reports for six years and are a significant negative marker that lenders weigh in a credit decision.

A CCJ does not automatically mean decline, but it is material context, and lenders consider how recent it is and whether it has been satisfied.
